
International PhD Scholarship Postgraduate Research Group (PRG) "Personal Union between Britain and Hanover from 1714 to 1837 as international space communication and interaction" to fund two PhD scholarships in Göttingen Georg-August-Universität.
PRG International PhD Scholarship focuses on political relations, economy and culture between Britain and Hanover voters in European and international context. Applicants are expected to cooperate with international research groups. International PhD Scholarship will be awarded for the first two-year period from 1 July 2011. There is a possibility of renewal for a third year depending on a positive evaluation. Scholarship level will approx. € 1.450 per month. Additional family allowance can be provided on request. Scholarship holders must take to stay in Göttingen.
Worthiness
In accordance with German juristiction, University of Göttingen actively seek to support women academics and therefore strongly encourages qualified women to apply. Applications from abroad are also explicitly encouraged.
International PhD Scholarship Applicants must have a bachelor's degree may be very good (Master, Magister Artium or equivalent) preferably in the fields of History, Musicology or English studies. They must be fluent in German and English. Basic command of French advantageous.

The application comprises a covering letter, short CV, a letter of recommendation from a university teacher outside the University of Göttingen as well as copies of degrees and a two-page draft for a research project within the area of research of the Postgraduate Research Group.
